Il centrale danese non rientra più nel progetto tecnico di Stefano Pioli che lo escluderà anche dall’ultimo match amichevole in programma per la tournée americana contro il Barcellona.
Addio ad un altro leader
Nei prossimi giorni la dirigenza e l’entourage del difensore si incontreranno per discutere i possibili futuri scenari, ma il dado in questo senso sembra essere stato tratto: l’avventura di Kjaer al Milan è giunta al capolinea.
Chance per Simic
In attesa di capire quale sarà la futura destinazione del centrale danese, il Milan inizia a monitorare anche il mercato dei difensori: probabile tuttavia che il duo titolare per la prossima stagione continui ad essere quello composto da Thiaw e Tomori, con l’aggiunta di Kalulu e di un quarto difensore giovane e di prospettiva che tuttavia potrebbe essere lo stesso Simic, prodotto del vivaio rossonero ben aggregatosi alla prima squadra in questi giorni di ritiro.
Kjaer and Kalulu (and possibly Krunic) are the only non-Italian players that the club might think of sacrificing to make space for another signing. Krunic and Kalulu are less likely due to the fact that they can cover more than one position, plus management probably wants to raise Kalulu value before selling (not sure if anybody would pay even 20 mill after last season).
Also physically, Kjaer much more likely to have another injury (I recall last year Pioli substituted him a lot, rarely playing 90 min), also after the loss with Inter and with Spezia, he definitely lost the position to Thiaw.
So yeah, Kjaer obvious choice to leave. Positionally he still is our best defender which also helps in aerial defense, that said he’s slower and had much worse performances since he got injured. Hate to say it, but maybe it’s time for him to go. The idea of a 3-men defense (Kalulu-Kjaer-Tomori) seems to be forgotten also due to the current struggles of Leao in the new position, and Kjaer said even in an interview last year that he doesn’t see himself as a bench player.
